Who is your positivity meter?

I know that this is a new year and I am manifesting positivity from the very beginning. So, let me tell you what happened.

The week before Christmas my daughter had to travel for work. Unfortunately, she was exposed to someone with Covid, and out of the 6 or 7 coworkers on the trip, there were only 3 who did not test positive for Covid upon returning home. My daughter was one of the negative people.

Christmas weekend she got her son from us (love having him) and they returned home after a day or so with us. She was not feeling well and this was a concern for all of us.

During her time with us, we visited my husband's job. He was not feeling well and neither was I. His boss was sick and discovered that the family she had been with over the Christmas holiday had tested positive for Covid. She had gotten tested and as negative, but was feeling worse. Since my husband and I have both had Covid, we suggested she get tested again. She did and it was positive. So as of Tuesday after Christmas, she was out of work.

During this time, I was feeling worse and worse. I was scheduled to get the vaccine but had to reschedule based on how I was feeling. Instead, I got a Covid test on Wednesday after Christmas.

This is where the positivity comes full circle. I finally got my Covid test results on Sunday, January 2nd. It is negative (Yay!). I am so thankful to my heavenly father for watching over and protecting me and my family. With all of this potential and actual exposure, Covid missed my daughter, my grandson, me, and my husband!

Yes. We follow all of the precautions (masks, sanitizing of hands and surfaces, social distancing, and limiting contact). After all, I have lost family and friends to this virus and at one point it felt like I wasn't going to make it when I was sick with Covid. I am very careful and will continue to live that way.

I say all of that to say this: I was positive that I did not have Covid. Not because of the way I felt obviously, but because I knew I had to be positive. I was and things turned out well. I live my life on being positive because this mindset has pulled me through some of the worse times I've ever had to face. Being positive is about 70% of every battle for me.

We may be living in uncertain times, but don't let that keep you from helping yourself by being positive. This is not something you can only get from others. It's within you. It starts with what you think about and moves on to what you watch, read, and ultimately do.

You are your own positivity meter. Don't let anything or anyone take that away from you.
